Gee Michaud
Gee studied sculpture and drawing, from 1990-1993, in Istanbul, and then in Paris, from 1993-1995. Having lived in many countries, she has held sculpture exhibitions in Istanbul, Paris and Jakarta. Working now as a sculptor and painter, exhibitions of her works in both fields, have recently been held in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
The need to express, and to put form to innermost thoughts, emotions and the search for soul identity, has led her on a journey, exploring the solid forms of sculpture and the intensity of form and movement on canvas.
Her sculptures, whilst portraying very intense emotions, and reflecting life's experiences, appear to flow, move and glide across the eyes; a strength control that suggests internal balance and equilibrium.

The strong movements, depth of colours, tones and textures that come together in layers, in her paintings, sometimes disturb and defy. Her subject matter, often varied, gushes onto canvas with the vigour and dynamism of a soul that is strong spirited, and rich in emotions. The often seen rich reds in her paintings are a signal of vibrancy in message, and the mysteriousness of her own experiences and dimension.
What is most interesting about her works, whether sculpture or painting, is that she seldom knows what the final outcome or even subject matter is going to be. Every piece is always initiated by an internal force that moves and energises and then creates distinctive and unique pieces of art.
